There are many governmental insurance plans that provide healthcare coverage for older adults, military personnel, or low-income households. Also, the majority of the aged Americans who are still working and their children as well have employment-based private health care insurance.
The federal health care funding system for individuals who are 65 years of age or older than that and people with serious permanent disabilities is called Medicare.
A federal program that provides to states the funding that could support state-sponsored health care coverage for low-income citizens is called Medicaid.
