Legendary Abdul Qadir died in the age of 63
Salman Qadir, son of legendary Abdul Qadir has confirmed that his father has died due to cardiac arrest in Lahore. He also added that Abdul Qadir never has any heart issues, it was really shocking for every one of his family members to bear the sudden and shocking death of every souls’ beloved legendary Abdul Qadir. Abdul Qadir was born on 15 September 1955 in Lahore and died on 6 September 2019 in Lahore.
The dancing right-arm leg-spin and leg break googly bowler of Pakistan has represented in 67 test matches from 1977 to 1990, and 104 ODIs from 1983 to 93 for Pakistan. Abdul Qadir Khan was famous with the name as a dancing bowler in the cricketing world, it was because of his unusual bowling style that was unique and very interesting to watch.
Test career of Abdul Qadir
The former let legendary international cricketer has started his test debut playing with England at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 14th December 1977. In that time there have to be 8 balls in an over, and Abdul Qadir bowled 32.7 overs 7 maidens and got 1 wicket of England’s last batsman RGD Willis to end England’s inning. He has only 1.87 bowling economy rate in his debut match. Moreover, he also scored 11 crucial runs in just 20 balls. This match was played under the captaincy of another Pakistan’s legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Wasim Bari.
Abdul Qadir Khan ended his test career with 67 test matches, scoring 1029 runs with an average of 15.59. And in 67 test matches, he took 236 wickets with an average of 32.80 runs per wickets. Considering that the legendary took 5 times more than 10 wickets in his total 67 matches, which is why he is still called legendary player in the cricket world.
Abdul Qadir ended his test career playing under the captaincy of great Imran Khan, currently Pakistan’s Prime Minister and chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf PTI. In that match, he took only one wicket of Brian Lara, the legendary Carrabin player. That was the only he did in his both the innings. This match was also played in the same Gaddafi Stadium Lahore from where Abdul Qadir has started his career.
One day International career of Abdul Qadir
Abdul Qadir Khan also represented Pakistan in 104 ODIs, in which he scored 641 runs with an average of 15.26. He also took 132 crucial wickets for Pakistan in his 104 ODI matches representing Pakistan. Abdul Qadir played his debut ODI against New Zealand in Edgbaston, Birmingham, remember that this was a 6th 60 over per side ODI match of the 1983 world cup which Pakistan played under the captaincy of Legendary Imran Khan. In the debut match, legendary Abdul Qadir bowled 12 overs and conceded only 21 runs with an average of 1.75 and got 4 crucial wickets as well. In his debut, even after the loss of Pakistan, Legendary was rewarded man of the match for his best performance with the bat and the ball. As he was also Pakistan’s top scorer of the match that he scored 41 runs for Pakistan.
