During the telethon, PM Imran Khan told the media that he had a telephonic call with President Donald Trump last night. In which both the leaders discussed problems related to COVID’19 Pandemic and the economic challenges which the world is facing right now.
Prime Minister added that Donald Trump said – he will provide ventilators to Pakistan – as America is producing more than their requirement.
Large tech companies like Tesla (EVP) is producing ventilators to help counter the Pandemic as America’s Coronavirus curve extended in an upward direction very rapidly. The cases increased and reached to 854,722 cases (39.9% of total cases recorded in the world) and 48,416 deaths. This death toll is far higher for America than 9/11.
Donald Trump providing ventilators to Pakistan, despite the worsening situation in America, will push the bilateral cooperation further. Donald Trump praised PM Imran Khan and admired his efforts for the prosperity of Pakistan.
Pakistan is also getting protection equipments from Turkey and China. China is also providing ventilators to Pakistan. Ministry of Science and Technology also started producing ventilators in Pakistan for the first time in the history, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced a few days earlier at his twitter handle.
This is good news for Pakistan especially at the time when corona cases in the country are raising. It will help to improve the preparations against the virus before it can reach its peak. Instead of complete lockdown, Pakistan went for smart lockdown by keeping the economic activities running. Pakistan’s approach to cater to COVID’19 has been appreciated by the World Health Organization.
