When India and Pakistan get their freedom from Britain in august 1947, the territory was hotly contested. According to the India act 1935, the Kashmir was free to join either India or Pakistan. The Maharaja Hari Singh initially wanted Kashmir to become independent. But later, in October 1947 he wanted to join with India, But the public wanted to join with Pakistan. So, the region remains disputed, not only between India and Pakistan, but a significant area of Kashmir has been claimed by China as well.
The War situation has erupted and India and Pakistan, both approached the United Nations (UN) asking it to mediate and resolve the issue. The United Nations recommended a referendum to settle the question. The question of whether the state would join India or Pakistan. However, India and Pakistan could not agree to a deal to demilitarise the region before the referendum could be held.
In July 1949, India and Pakistan signed an agreement to establish a ceasefire line as recommended by the United Nations in the region became divided. After further fighting between India and Pakistan war of 1965 and 1971, the Simla agreement formally established the line of control between the two nations controlled territories. In 1999 armed conflict between India and Pakistan broke out again in the Kargil war and Indian leadership violation remained unchanged.
Since 1989, Kashmiri protest movements were created to voice Kashmiri’s disputes and grievances with the Indian leadership in the Indian controlled Kashmir valley with some Kashmiri separatists in armed conflict with the Indian government based on the demand of the self-determination.
The 2010s were marked by further unrest erupted In the Kashmir valley. On 5th August 2019, The Indian government of Hindu Nationalist party BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) revoked the article 370 of 35 A and remove the special status of Kashmir. Which is clear stunt of Indian leadership violation of human rights. As BJP promised in their 2019 election campaign manifesto, and they imposed the curfew in the Heaven valley (Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir) and lock down all types of the communication including internet, public gatherings were also banned and the tourists were told to leave the Kashmir valley under warnings of terror threat, and Indian leadership violation of human rights began with sending around 1 million of Indian army troops to the valley. About 1 Million soldiers are in valley and has converted the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir Valley into the big open jail. The political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir were placed under house arrest including two former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, and many other young civilians were also arrested. Indian forces are using pellet guns with these guns the innocent peoples of Kashmir are losing their eyes.
On August 5, the press around the world noted that India had ended special status for Jammu and Kashmir. The media in the Muslim world such as Dawn and Al Jazeera shown the light only on Kashmir. So did the BBC and The New York Times. This is understandable. Given that India and Pakistan are both nuclear powers, Deutsche Welle has rightly called the conflict over Kashmir the most dangerous in the world. Yet it makes sense to take a deep breath and examine key facts to make sense of what is going on. Many journalists forget that there is no state in India named Kashmir. The state of Jammu and Kashmir includes three distinct regions: Buddhist Ladakh, Hindu Jammu and Muslim Kashmir. These comprise 62.3%, 22.7% and 15% of the area of the state. This means that Kashmir is merely 15% of the total area of the state. The tables are turned when it comes to demographics. Kashmir is most populous, comprising 53.9% of the state population with Jammu forming 43.7% and Ladakh a mere 2.3% share.

This article is so best, because it shows the actual fact and figures that how kashmari people are facing, difficulties, problems, and challenges, since 1947 to till to day.
Basically kashmir issue is a very sensitive issue, because there is the population of muslims and the kashmir area is under the govt of india.
Since 1947, kashmari people are not living there life according to their desires, because hindus and muslims are two different nations, they lived together each other many years, but do not mingle with each other, and also they have different “culture”religious “and different life style, for this purpose govt of india is not ready to give all rights to all people of kashmir.
And also recently indian govt revoke the articel 370 and 35 A to finish the status of kashmir.Pakistsn is trying to solve the kashmir issue from many years, but we all pray from Allah that one day kashmari people will get freedom.
In Kashmir, the militant forces do not control territory and their military operations are generally characterized by ambushes of government forces and hit-and-run attacks for which they rely on weapons such as AK-47, grenades, mines and other small arms. However, the guerrillas command considerable support throughout valley and may take refuge among the local civilians following these operations. Unable to locate or identify militants, the government forces routinely respond to attacks by retaliating against entire villages, killing and assaulting civilians and destroying their property.
After knowing all this, could you please also include how many women got raped? how many children went orphans? how many youngsters lost their lives to the oppression? despite of narrating these stories you should play your role as the leading newspaper of Pakistan in bringing up the issue of Kashmir in every single daily! that’s what your responsibility is at present in Kashmir in this time there is injustice to the Kashmir’s people
