Rafael Nadal has once again been crowned as the king of French Open, and this time it’s the 14th the record-extending. 14thFrench Open title as he has beaten Casper Ruud of Norway, he clinched the victory 6-3 6-3 6-0 in straight sets this Sunday 5th of June 2022 just two days after his birthday. Rafael Nadal has now won 112 matches out of the 115 matches he has played on the Paris clay.

The Spaniard, Rafael dropped his racquet to the court in joy as he was living the moment after taking his second match point to clinch the victory in two hours and 18 minutes.

Rafael Nadal has finally won back to back major titles again since he did in 2010.

22nd Grand Slam Title

Winning 14th French Open title was not the only record he broke  He also extended his Grand Slam men’s singles titles to 22 which is another record he achieved.

Now with the French Open title, Rafael moves ahead of his rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic with two more Grand Slam men’s titles.

Just two days after celebrating his 36th birthday. The 36-year-old Spaniard Rafael Nadal who won his first-ever French Open title 17 years ago, Now with the win becomes the oldest men’s singles champion at Roland Garros. Previously Andres Gimeno was the oldest who won in 1972 aged 34.

Well, what made this French Open final more interesting was that it was a showdown between a master and a student. Yes, Rudd has trained in Mallorca, Spain at Rafael Nadal Academy since like 2018 and has been an admirer of the Spaniard throughout his journey of Tennis got to meet his master in his first-ever Grand Slam Final it was an enormous moment for him something that he might have dreamed of.

Rafa just after winning the French Open title said some words, “For me personally it is very tough to describe the feelings that I have, it’s something I never believed I would be here at 36 being competitive, one more final. It means everything to keep going. I don’t know what can happen in the future but I am going to keep fighting to try to keep going, so thank you!
