Big Boost for Pakistan’s Air Force
Pakistan is preparing to upgrade its air force by adding up to 40 of China’s new J-35A stealth fighter jets. The agreement, made public on June 6, 2025, marks the first time China has exported a fifth-generation combat aircraft.
Key Features of the J-35A
The J-35A is built by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, a part of AVIC. This advanced twin-engine jet comes equipped with stealth features, internal weapons storage, and AESA radar. Its long range and low radar profile make it a strong option for both air-to-air and ground missions. The J-35A’s design helps pilots avoid detection and strike targets more effectively.
More Than Just Fighter Jets
The deal is not limited to fighter aircraft. China will also supply KJ-500 Airborne Early Warning and Control planes and HQ-19 surface-to-air missile systems. With these additions, Pakistan gains a more complete air defense setup. The package will help protect airspace, spot threats sooner, and improve interception abilities.
