Gofrixty [23 July 2025] – The ex US talk show star Ellen DeGeneres, announced she has moved to Britain because she is “furious” with Donald Trump’s presidency. During a new video interview, she didn’t hold back as she dished on why she chose to leave the U.S. and create a life away from her place of birth.
Ellen told me that the political climate in the US had been having a seriously negative impact on her mental health. She said she couldn’t stand the mounting division, hostility and misinformation under Trump. Rather than staying in what she called a “toxic environment,” she chose to pack up and move.

“I needed peace. “What I needed was fresh air, and calm energy, and people who appreciate kindness,” she told a British journalist. And Ellen revealed she had looked at other countries but the UK felt most like home. She extolled the country’s charm, history and culture, which she said more closely aligned with her own values.
