Gofrixty [11 August 2025] – AOL is preparing to discontinue its dial-up internet service next month, marking the end of an era that has aptly spanned 34 years. The company made the announcement on Friday, revealing that September 30th, 2025 will represent the last day OC6 service will operate.

AOL will officially lose its last dialup subscribers on October 1 (because it wants them to go elsewhere, and if you’re not a customer for the past three months, the feeling is mutual).

The move brings an official end to one of the most iconic services of the early internet.
