Renowned Pakistani cricket umpire Aleem Dar has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket officiating. The 53-year-old umpire made the announcement on March 16, 2023, bringing an end to his illustrious career that spanned over two decades.
Aleem Dar, who hails from Pakistan’s Punjab province, made his international umpiring debut in 2000, and went on to officiate in over 400 international matches across all three formats of the game.
He became a member of the elite panel of ICC umpires in 2004, and was widely regarded as one of the best umpires in the world.
During his career, Aleem Dar officiated in four World Cups, including the final of the 2011 edition between India and Sri Lanka in Mumbai.
He also stood in three Champions Trophy finals and numerous high-profile bilateral series.

His consistent and fair decision-making, combined with his calm and composed demeanor, earned him the respect of players and fans alike.
