World Reaction: Israel air strikes Syria's Damascus

World reaction after Israel air strikes syria’s damascus near the Defence Ministry and presidential palace in Syria’s capital. syria condemn Israeli attacks, denouncing the strikes as a dangerous escalation, brought many days of unrest in the Suweyda region.

Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on thursday.

“The new wave of violence in Syria is deeply concerning,” the ministry said in a statement. “The Russian side has repeatedly condemned Israel’s arbitrary use of force in Syria.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned Israel’s air strikes.

Turkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks and said they were an attempt to sabotage Syria’s efforts to achieve peace, stability and security.

The Syrian people have a historic opportunity to live in peace and integrate with the world, the ministry said.

Israel Air Strikes

Israel has launched several air strikes in Syria’s capital, Damascus, as clashes continued in the southwestern city of Suwayda after a truce between government forces and Druze armed groups collapsed.

Defence Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces struck along entrance to the Syrian Ministry of Defence on Wednesday, hours after he demands Syrian government forces withdraw from Suwayda.

Another strike hit near the presidential palace, on the outskirts of the city, as deadly sectarian fighting in the mostly Druze province of Suweida continued.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was “working to save our Druze brothers”, therefore Interim Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa accused Israel of causing a “large-scale escalation”.

The Syrian military reportedly began to withdraw its forces from Suweida late on Wednesday, although the US said it had agreed to end the violence.
