Besides many other fields, Biomedical engineering is one of the most emerging fields across the globe due to its vast innovations. It is the field in which engineering principles and techniques are applied to the biological system to solved a particular biological issue. This mainly aims at serving the suffering people who are with lost or damaged bodily limbs or tissues or any other defects in the body. In it, one applies mechanical, electrical, civil and other engineering principles to cope with the given situation. It Also develops instrumentations to aid in solving the biological problem. These include MRI, CT-Scan, ECG, EEG, ventilator, pulse oximeter, Electro-Surgical unit etc.
Many universities are offering admission in this field in Pakistan. It is 4 years degree program. Prerequisite for admission is Biomedical Engineering is FSc pre-engineering or pre-medical with an entrance test and a cumulative aggregate is calculated according to the score obtained in FSc and the entrance test.
