Bangladesh Air Force Plane Crash

Bangladesh Air Force plane crash occurred shortly after the F-7 BGI jet took off at 1:06pm from the Kurmitola base in Dhaka for a routine training flight. A sudden mechanical failure forced the pilot to try and divert the aircraft away from crowded areas. The jet crashed into a two-storey building at Milestone School and College.

The military confirmed the pilot died in the crash and formed a committee to investigate the cause. Meanwhile, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery set up an emergency helpline to assist those affected. At the same time, officials sent three BGB platoons to Uttara to aid in rescue operations and help maintain public order.

After the crash, the government declared a one-day state of mourning for tomorrow. Authorities will lower the national flag at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational centers, and Bangladeshi missions abroad. People across the country will offer prayers to honor and remember the victims.

Interim government head Muhammad Yunus stated that all necessary steps would be taken to investigate the incident and provide full support to those affected.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his heartfelt condolences over the tragic incident and assured that Pakistan stands firmly with Bangladesh in this time of grief.
