Gofrixty [02 September 2025] –  The SCO summit in condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Jaffar, Khuzdar and Pahalgam. The heads of state of the member countries issued a joint statement that reaffirmed their collective position of opposition to terrorism, separatism, and extremism.

Leaders in the declaration spoke of their solidarity with the victims and their families. They also underlined that terrorism can never be justified whatever its form may be. They called the attacks attacks on nations, risk to regional stability and to global peace.

The member states vowed to bolster intelligence sharing and border security as well as to step up joint efforts to combat terrorism. They decided to enhance cooperation through the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) in order to counter the financing, control and recruitment of terrorist groups.

Leaders have also taken on the underlying causes of extremism. They called poverty, radicalization and cross-border terrorism challenges that require a collective response.

The announcement was a clear signal to the world. SCO had proved that regional cooperation is the driving force behind wiping out terrorism. The summit exhibited a non-partisan, communally independent stanc​e against attacks in Pakistan and India. The leaders have underlined the face of the SCO as an agency of dialogue and security cooperation.

Analysts observe that the show of unity by the SCO adds more pressure on terrorist outfits in South and Central Asia. The strength of this statement will rely on the measures member states implement together in the coming months. The SCO emphasized that terrorism is a shared challenge and it is to be addressed jointly.
