Announcement Details
Warner Bros. Television confirmed that the lead roles will go to three young actors, all under 14. This choice matches the characters’ ages in the books, showing a clear effort to stay true to the original timeline. The studio stressed that talent, honesty, and emotional range were key factors in casting these roles.
Casting teams held months of auditions throughout the UK and Ireland. Producers shared that they wanted kids who not only looked the part, but also felt like the characters Rowling described.
The show will cover all seven books—one season for each. Filming is set to begin in 2025, with the first season expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.
