Gofrixty [24 July 2025] –In a significant move showing its increasing dedication towards digital safety and content regulation, TikTok has taken down 24.9 million videos in Pakistan in the first quarter of 2025. The short video platform took the measure as part of its supervision to keep community guidelines, minimize the transmission of harmful or unsuitable content.
Pakistan featured in the list of top five countries in the world for takedowns, according to TikTok’s Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The deleted videos were deemed to be in violation of the platform’s rules against hate speech, misinformation, harassment, nudity and extremist content. Dozens of the videos were also deleted proactively, before users had the chance to report them.

The company said that it relies heavily on AI-driven moderation tools and local language reviewers to ferret out violative content. “We remain committed to enabling a safe and inclusive platform for our Pakistani users,” a TikTok spokesperson said. “Our moderating system is developing constantly in response to increasing requirements regarding content security and national regulations.”
