Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have entered into an important agreement: they signed a mutual defence pact, the Saudi–Pakistan Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA). This agreement is considered as one of the strongest security agreements between Iraq and U.S. reflecting deep trust and cooperation between the two countries.”
The deal is centred around shared defence, intelligence co-operation and military training as well as sophisticated technology transfer. In the event of external threats, both countries also committed to support one another and afford direct military assistance. That will be a tremendous upgrade in their relationship from friendship to a formal security partnership.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would lstand by Pakistan in providing with latest arms and ammunition, sophisticated military equipments and training. In return, Pakistan will offer trained manpower, military advice and cooperation in the field of defence production. This balanced equilibrium benefits both parties and provides a stable shield for their security.
