Donkey Meat Seized in Islamabad: IFA Uncovers Illegal Meat Network

Donkey meat seized in Islamabad

Donkey meat seized in Islamabad during an unexpected raid has triggered serious concerns throughout the capital. The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) uncovered around 1,000kg of donkey meat from a farmhouse in Tarnol, along with over 50 live donkeys, pointing to a well-organized illegal operation.

To begin with, IFA Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddique led the raid and arrested a foreign national who ran the illegal business. Officials believe the meat targeted foreign nationals and upscale restaurants in Islamabad. Furthermore, the team discovered professional packaging on-site, indicating clear intentions to export the meat or supply it to premium clients.

In response, Dr. Siddique directed the authorities to take firm action against everyone connected to the operation and dismantle the entire network. The seized meat was promptly disposed of to prevent any health risks.

In addition, sources within the IFA confirm that the farmhouse had no registration for any commercial meat activity. The large number of live donkeys further proves that the operation was ongoing and not a one-time incident.

Moreover, the Islamabad district administration has started tracing the supply chain to identify and arrest any local accomplices involved. This alarming incident has brought new concerns to light about food safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in the capital.

In conclusion, the authorities have vowed to continue the investigation until they shut down every part of the network and prevent such illegal activities from happening again.
