Gofrixty [19 August 2025] – The film industry is in mourning as it is bidden abode to one of the veteran actors- Achyut Potdar who breathed his last at the age of 91. Famous for his warm nature and flexibility as a performer across Bollywood and Marathi film industry, Potdar made a significant contribution to both the cinemas. He had a career of more than four decades in movies, television and theater.
He is best known for his role as the befuddled professor in 3 Idiots, which was one of Bollywood’s highest-grossing films. The character was relatively small, but unforgettable, and in some ways was a demonstration of Potdar’s knack for making supporting roles brighten a film or TV screen. Besides 3 Idiots, he also featured in critically acclaimed movies such as Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Mission Kashmir.
