Israel settlement building plan to ‘dissolve’ the Palestinian state

Gofrixty [15 August 2025] – Israel’s latest settlement expansion plan “spells the end of the two state solution,” in the words of a senior Palestinian minister. He accused the Israeli government of preventing a peace process and sabotaging a two-state solution.

Israel has announced thousands of new West Bank housing units in the occupied Palestinian territories. The expansion will further anchor Israel in strategic areas, officials said. Palestinian officials say this denies Palestinians territories but vital to their future state. The plan is a direct aggression on the rights and national aspirations of the Palestinian people, said the minister.

Minister Jouma says the Palestinian leadership will step up its efforts at enlisting support in the United Nations and other international forums. A pledge to work with allies to deny financing or help for settlement building Demonstrations and public campaigns are ongoing in Palestinian cities led by activists who had initiated the campaign.
