Gofrixty [12 August 2025] – President Donald Trump earlier announced his decision to send the National Guard and restore law and order in Washington DC. He acted quickly, calling in federal and local authorities to seal off the city ad protect citizens from further violence.
He emphasized that it would be necessary to restore order quickly. He also ordered the National Guard to assist local law enforcement agencies with crowd and traffic control, property protection and curfews where appropriate. The governor’s administration must ensure resident safety and to avoid any more destruction of public or private property.
Trump also called for an end to vandalism and violence, affirming that the U.S. government would no longer allow lawlessness. The president appealed to all Americans to obey the law and assist authorities which was right. While Trump said peaceful protest is a constitutional right, he demanded an end to violence and destruction immediately.

Since then, officials laid out a joint plan that saw additional law enforcement and National Guard troops being stationed across the city. Officials anticipate the Guard helping in crowd control and reinforcing police forces that have been unable to keep up with the size of recent protests.
The action signals the Trump administration will try to contain protests and return the nation’s capital back to order. It was the right move given the increasing tension and protests that had turned violent, at times resulting in fires and injury to others.
Through this action of sending in the National Guard, Trump unequivocally declares that the government with first and foremost demand public safety and will bring all its power to bear against any potential threats to peace and order. With tensions running high in Washington DC, National Guard troops are being deployed throughout the city to help prevent any more bloodshed and make locals safer.
