Honour Killing in Rawalpindi

Honour killing in Rawalpindi has come to light in the Pirwadhai area, where a man allegedly murdered his wife with the help of relatives and buried her body in secrecy.

According to police, the husband, Zia, initially reported his wife missing on July 11. He claimed she left home with cash and jewellery after a minor dispute. However, things took a dark turn when investigators discovered she had reportedly married another man named Usman while still legally married to Zia.

As police looked deeper into the case, they found out that the woman was taken back by force and then killed. To hide what happened, her body was quietly buried without telling anyone. Later, when police questioned a local gravedigger, he told them about the grave and showed them where she was buried. The grave had no name or sign on it, it was left that way on purpose to keep everything hidden.

Moreover, authorities have updated the FIR to include murder and honour killing charges. Raids are currently underway to track down Zia and his accomplices. The gravedigger and others allegedly involved are already behind bars.

Furthermore, the police are seeking court approval to exhume the body for a post-mortem examination. Police were contacted several times for a statement, but the spokesperson didn’t say anything. They only mentioned that the case is still being looked into by senior officers.
