The United Arab Emirates (UAE) have officially punched their tickets for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, thanks to their convincing eight-wicket win over Japan in the Asia-East Asia Pacific (EAP) Qualifier. This marks the last team that we were waiting to hear from in (or confirm) our 20-strong lineup for next year’s tournament.
U.A.E. bowler Haider Ali performed marvelously in taking three wickets for twenty runs and helped the Japanese side close on a mere 117. Afterwards, U.A.E. openers Muhammad Waseem Alishan Sharafu used their experience to relive the chase to come easily, putting on 70 runs for partnership and bringing home a clean, easy win.
With this win, UAE became the final three teams from the Asia-EAP region to win their tickets for next year’s global showpiece, which will jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
