Imran Khan sons in Pakistan: PTI denies rumours

Imran Khan sons in Pakistan

Imran Khan sons in Pakistan became the focus of headlines after PTI strongly rejected claims that Imran had stopped Sulaiman, 28, and Kasim, 26, from visiting or joining political activities. Party leaders confirmed the brothers would come to Pakistan and announce the dates soon. Moreover, family sources said plans remain flexible for security reasons.

PTI information secretary Waqas Akram urged the media to quote Imran accurately and avoid twisting his statements. He added that the children informed their father of their plans instead of seeking permission. Furthermore, he called the rumours “propaganda” aimed at distracting from PTI’s demand for Imran’s release.

Government leaders reacted sharply. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif called the issue a political drama, and Minister of State Tallal Chaudhry said the government would issue visas within a day if the brothers follow the law.

The legal issue has also triggered debate. Article 16 of the Constitution gives the right to assemble only to citizens, and officials made it clear that foreigners are not allowed to lead political activities. Since both brothers are British nationals, the conditions of their visas would limit how they can take part.

Imran Khan is currently held in Adiala Jail in connection with the £190 million corruption case and is also battling Anti-Terrorism Act charges linked to the May 9, 2023 protests.
