Govt Announces 2-days Public Holidays

The Federal Government has officially announce Public Holidays on Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, 2025, to mark the observance of Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram 1447 A.H.).

The two-day holiday allows citizens across the country to participate in religious events and rituals held in remembrance of the sacrifices made by Imam Hussain (R.A.) and his companions.

A notification in this regard has also been issue by the cabinet division.

According to the notification, public holidays would be observed across the country on July 5 and 6 (9th and 10th Muharram).

In light of security concerns during Muharram, the Ministry of Interior has deployed the Pakistan Army nationwide. The deployment, approved by the federal cabinet.

The Cabinet Division has circulated the notification to all major ministries, divisions, intelligence agencies, provincial governments, police departments, and judiciary offices.
