During the Liuyang Fireworks Cultural Festival, China shattered the world record by flying 15,947 drones in flawless formation over Liuyang. a city in Hunan Province. Thousands of viewers were awed by the performance, as luminous drones performed seemingly out of nowhere flower and tree stereotypes upon the sky, as well as a large floating satellite. The staggering performance established China’s strong achievement in drone technology and AI coordination.
Each drone was controlled by just one central computer, an amazing accomplishment demonstrating that China now has the capability to carry out real-time control across vast areas, perform wireless networking with perfect accuracy and conduct precision engineering. This showcase has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as “the most multirotor drones airborne simultaneously from a single computer, in an outdoor setting.”
Participants also launched 7,496 fireworks from drones, setting another world record. Combining fireworks and drones makes the festival traditional and modern at once. It was an aesthetic experience that symbolized not only China’s ingenuity, but also its cultural self-confidence.
