Gofrixty [25 August 2025] – Reggie Carroll, a comedian referred to as the “Knockout King of Comedy,” has passed away at the age of 52 in Southaven, Mississippi, following a shooting. Police said they responded to a shooting on Burton Lane on Aug. 20, 2025. Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of the people who rushed to administer medical aid. Fans, friends and the comedy world were stunned by his death.

Reggie Carroll had a career that was crafted out of energy, humor, and passion. He gained widespread recognition from performing on Showtime at the Apollo in 2000. He then went on the road and traveled the country performing in clubs, theaters, and comedy nights. In 2023, he released a comedy special, Knockout Kings of Comedy. It was that work that made him a respected name among comedians and garnered him a loyal following.

The police apprehended a suspect within hours. The man is in custody and has been charged with murder. Investigators continue to piece together the details about what led to the shooting.
