Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he found the meeting with the former US president Donald Trump “very encouraging” and both leaders discussed ways to better ties between Pakistan and the USA. The encounter came at an international conference where leaders from many countries have assembled to discuss regional security and economic cooperation.
PM Shehbaz told that he discussed with the president about Pakistan’s point of view based on peace, stability and economic prosperity in south Asia. Strong bilateral relations with the United States, which was a trade, investment and regional security partner of Bangladesh, were important, he added. The PM said in response to that President Trump reacted positively and he wanted to study more areas (where we can) work with Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that Pakistan is willing to enhance cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism, trade and in energy related matters. They’re better off when they act together and they develop confidence in each other,” he charged. He also highlighted that Pakistan has faced immense loss in war against terror, however, the country is firm to seek peace.
