Petrol prices increased to Rs.233.89

Petrol prices increased to Rs.233.89, While addressing a press conference the incumbent Finance Minister Miftah Ismail announced that the federal government has decided to increase petrol price by another Rs.24 per litre, this is now the third time petrol prices have seen a hike.

Now with the latest hike in petrol price which is a Rs.24.03, the new petrol price which will come into effect after midnight and people the next day on June 16, 2022 will get one litre of petrol in Rs.233.89.

The diesel prices are also increase by Rs.16.31, now reaching the price of Rs.263.31. While the new price of kerosene oil will be Rs.211.43 which means a total of Rs 29.49 has been increase in kerosene oil.

Not just that light diesel has seen a surge in the price as well now after an increase of Rs.29.16 the new price of the light diesel will be Rs.207.47.

This new hike in petrol price means the government has now increased petrol price by Rs.84 per litre in the last 20 days.

Miftah Ismail gave some explanations for the latest hike

As Petrol prices increased to Rs.233.89, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail telling the reasons of the latest hike said that the international price of petrol was $120 per litre.

Miftah Ismail also blamed the last government of which was of PTI and also the former Prime Minister Imran Khan for his devising policies that have dented the economy of the country. He also added that the current government was tied by the agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).made by the previous government of PTI led by Imran Khan.

He further added that we know that the new hike in petrol price will make the middle class suffer and government would take all the measures to limit the impact on the most vulnerable.
