Palestinians Flee After Israeli Alert

Gofrixty [21 July 2025] – Israeli forces gave a warning on Sunday that sent thousands of Palestinians fleeing their homes in central and southern Gaza. Families scrambled and fled to crowded shelters, snatching only the essentials. Parents clutched their children, as mayhem roiled outside the streets. The threat of airstrikes drove whole neighborhoods to flee in a matter of hours.

The Israeli military issued warnings on loudspeakers and dropped leaflets telling people to evacuate certain areas. The response did not wait for a second warning. They traveled in large groups, clogging up roads already destroyed. Teams of medical responders raced to keep up with the surge of patients. Struggling hardest with the evacuation were the elderly and sick.

Scores of Palestinians sought refuge in shelters in Khan Younis and Rafah, in the hope of safety. But now even those places offer no automatic protection. Israeli airstrikes have continued to pound all over Gaza, striking homes, schools, and even hospitals. These days, people sleep in classrooms, in mosques and under plastic sheets, all soggy from the rain. Each district of Gaza is a story of pain and terror.
