Muhammad Asif World Games Snooker journey hit another high point on Tuesday as the Pakistani cueist stormed into the semi-finals with a commanding 2–0 victory over Britain’s Zac Cosker.

Asif made his intent clear from the start, taking the first frame 79–15 with a precise break of 51. He then wrapped up the match in style, winning the second frame 89–31. A triumph in the semi-final would secure him a medal, though even in defeat he would still battle for bronze.

The quarter-final spot came after a thrilling 2–1 win over Germany’s Alexander Vadau on Monday. Despite losing the opening frame 29–43, Asif roared back with a brilliant 109-point break to level the match, then sealed victory 67–32 in the decider.

He kicked off his campaign in style, sweeping past China’s Xiaolong Liang 2–0 with frame scores of 79–50 and 77–24. That unbeaten run saw him top Group B and advance confidently to the knockout stages.

Asif’s rise is built on a remarkable run of form. Last year, he won the IBSF World Men’s Snooker Championship in Doha, and just last month, he lifted the IBSF World Masters title in Bahrain. With Pakistan having only one snooker medal in World Games history, Asif now edges closer to making national history once again.
