London, (Gofrixty News Desk/ International News/ Sports News | 25th August 2020) A friendly cricket match was played at the Wheatsheaf Recreation Ground Woking between Pakistan High commission & Woking Cricket Club Teams amid to reduce the gloom created by COVID-19 Pandemic.
The 25-over friendly match was scheduled on 23rd of August, 2020 and it was played in a very healthy environment. Pakistan High commissioner. Muhammad Nafees Zakaria, along with the Hon. Jonathan Lord MP inaugurated the match.
The hall of fame announced legendary Pakistan cricketer, Zaheer Abbas, had also attended the event on the request of the invitation of High Commissioner Muhammad Nafees Zakaria. His participation made the event more glorious and important for the rest of the participants.

The information division of Pakistan’s High Commission further added that Muhammad Nafees Zakaria (High commissioner) expressed that the atmosphere for the match was wonderful and the time of the event was scheduled in a very important way that Pakistan’s National cricket team led by Captain Azhar Ali was playing English side of their third and last test match in the “midst of gloom created by COVID-19 Pandemic”.
The High Commissioner pays his gratitude to the Woking council for arranging such a beautiful and healthy activity. He further added that these type of activities not only enhance the exhausting working environment feelings nut also create strong mutual understandings with the local communities. Muhammad Nafees Zakaria encouraged the efforts and supported with gratitude to the sporting activities which help in bringing Pakistan and British communities closer to one another.
