US Open 2025: Anisimova Upset Osaka to Advance to Sabalenka Women’s Final

Gofrixty [05 September 2025] – Naomi Osaka was once again left reeling by Amanda Anisimova as she reached the US Open 2025 final. She won easily, in straight sets, and she did so by controlling the match with fearless hitting from the baseline and sharp returns.

Anisimova came outhot, breaking Osaka to open the match. She maintained the heat with ripping forehands and never allowed Osaka to find hers. Osaka pushed back in spurts, but her serve abandoned her at critical times. The crowd roared, too, as Anisimova closed the first set in authoritative fashion.

Osaka made an attempt to lift her game in the second set, but Anisimova was too consistent. The American hit winners off both wings and didn’t give away free points. She served it out in style with a commanding service game that made the four-time Grand Slam champion metaphorically look under the couch for lost keys.

The victory sends Anisimova to her first U.S. Open final, where she will meet Aryna Sabalenka, the defending champion. Sabalenka advanced to the final earlier in the day with an overwhelming victory against Iga Świątek. The collision of Sabalenka’s raw power and Anisimova’s fearlessness with shot-making should deliver high drama under the lights in New York.

For Anisimova, it was a “dream come true.” She thanked her fans for the support and said she will play her best tennis against Sabalenka.

Osaka congratulated her opponent and said she will use the loss to fuel her into 2026. She told reporters that she had already made “HUGE PROGRESS” during her comeback season, and that she is excited about the next chapter.

Now it’s Anisimova and Sabalenka’s turn. FS2K fans from around the world will watch as the 2025 US Open crowns its women’s Champion in a battle of power, precision and nerves.
