Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in 13 October 1948, in Lyallpur (Faisalabad). His real name was Pervaiz Ali khan. He was considered one of a great singer and performer of qawwali and Sufi music in Pakistan and the whole world.
He learned tabla from his father, but after his father’s death, He learned music from his uncles.
He made his first public performance as the leader of the party was at studio recording broadcast organized by Radio Pakistan.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan also known as the king of Qawwali, He was the only one who introduced qawwali to the western world, He had the most powerful voice in the world of music. From past six centuries his family have been musicians and singers of Qawwali.
He could perform at a high-level of intensity for hours and possessed a six-octave vocal range. He was the only one and icon, who put qawwali in the map of world music.
He was described as the 4th greatest singer of all time. He extended many years old traditions of his family. He had done his first public performance at the age of 15 in his father chelum.

He performed around 40 countries in the world and within a few times period He had established himself in Pakistan and spread the magic of his voice all over the world.
From 1985 He gave concert and started performing throughout the Europe and that was the time the world of his talent began to spread and in 1990s He contributed in many popular films.

He was died in 16 August 1997 (age 48) London England, His death caused by Cardiac arrest. He was buried in Faisalabad.
