Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar has taken an important step to claim and protect his digital identity. He has filed a suit in the Bombay High Court, requesting legal safeguard over anything on the internet that could use his name, image, voice, or likeness. His move strongly responds to the growing spread of AI-generated and deepfake videos that stitch together celebrity faces and circulate them online.
According to the filing, several manipulated video clips appeared online, falsely showing Akshay endorsing various products or making random political comments. These bogus videos mislead not only ordinary fans but were also a threat to his good name. Determined to put a stop to this, the actor went to court to ask that people who produce, spread or promote this kind of content be actually barred from doing so with a permanent injunction.

The petition also warned against the burgeoning threat of AI in entertainment. It pointed out that manipulated content could shake public trust and throw people into confusion about what was genuine. Akshay’s legal team has asked online platforms and e-commerce sites for failure to immediately remove any false material, and help snatch up the culprits.
