Israel hits Iran nuclear facilities, Major Turmoil in Middle East

On Friday, Israel carried out extensive strikes on Iran, claiming it targeted nuclear sites, ballistic missile production facilities, and senior military officials, marking the beginning of a sustained campaign to stop Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Iranian media and eyewitnesses reported explosions, including at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, while Israel declared a state of emergency in preparation for possible retaliatory missile and drone attacks.

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards corps said its top commander, Hossein Salami, was killed and state media reported the unit’s headquarters in Tehran had been hit.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned Israel that it “must expect severe punishment” following the “crime” of attacking Iran and killing several commanders and scientists.

Israel could now confirm that the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards and the commander of Iran’s Emergency Command were all killed in the strikes across Iran.

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company said the country’s oil refining and storage facilities did not sustain damages and their activities were ongoing.
Iran closed its airspace and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport was closed until further notice.

As Iranian officials threatened swift retaliation, the Israeli military said on Friday morning that Iran had launched a hundred drones aimed at Israel and that the country’s defenses were focused on intercepted them.
