Southern Italy (Selia)
In August 2015, the mayor of Selia, a town in southern Italy, ordered a ban on residents getting sick and dying. If they were not undergo medical examination then heavy fine will imposed on them
Southern France
Burial of the dead has become a problem in a village in southern France as cemeteries run out of space and groundwater levels rise. In 2007, the Mayor made it illegal to die for people who do not arrange their funerals ahead of time. This announcement worked and the Ministry of Defense gave permission to bury people.
Brazilian Town
When the local cemetery in a Brazilian town ran out of space in 2005, the mayor imposed a death ban. The purpose of this law was to protest against the federal government for not allowing the construction of a new cemetery.
