Joe Root returns to top in Test rankings

England’s Joe Root returns to top in Test rankings becomes the top ranked men’s batting test player in the new test rankings, therefore he has achieved the top spot just after he hit his fourth century of 2022. He is having some fun with the bat and does not seem to be stopping at the moment.

The 31-year-old player, Joe Root has now overtaken his Australian rival Marnus Labuschagne just after he scored a remarkable score of 176 when they secured a victory against New Zealand in the second Test match.

Joe Root Returns to Top of the Test Rankings

Joe Root is now ahead of Marnus Labuschagne by five points in the new Test rankings.

This is not the first time Joe Root has been name the top rank test batsman, the last time Root became the number one test batsman was in the year of 2015, and was last rank on the top till December 2021.

Later he was leapfrogged by Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne when Australia crushed England in the Ashes.

After scoring a laudable century against New Zealand on the fourth day of first Test, Joe Root now being the top rank test batsman also became the second English batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket.
