The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday disqualified PTI chief Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference.

In a decision the Election Commission of Pakistan has found former PM Imran Khan guilty and disqualifies from the member of parliament for corrupt practices.

The ruling said that He has made false statements and incorrect declaration”, therefore he has also committed the “offence of corrupt practices” defined under sections 167 and 173 of the Elections Act.

Toshakhana rules state that all gifts must be submit to the department. However, they can later be bought. While selling the gifts is not strictly illegal, many consider it unethical and morally wrong.

This verdict is not an attack on Imran Khan only. It is an attack on Pakistan’s constitution and its people says Fawad Chaudhry, He also called the Election Commission’s decision an embarrassing moment and the slap on the face of 220 million people of Pakistan.

Protests reported from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Karachi but former PM Imran Khan ordered to stop the protests.
